Trip Overview Tsum Valley Trekking

Tsum Valley Trekking

Tsum Valley Trekking is a trek to ‘Beyul Kyimolung’ which translates as - ‘Holy Hidden Valley of Happiness.’ The designation ‘Tsum’ is derived from the Tibetan term ‘Tsombo’ which means ‘Vivid.’ Tsum Valley is believed to have been crafted by 8th century Buddhist Saint Padmasambhava to impart shelter to the people fleeing from war, famine and religious persecution. The native inhabitants of Tsum Valley are referred to as Tsumbas.

Tsum Valley Trekking at ‘Adventure Himalayan Travels’ is 19- days long trekking package that takes you through ancient nunneries, local houses, tea houses, monasteries and the cave of Piren Phu (where Saint Milarepa is said to have meditated) to the Tsum Valley which nestles amid Boudha and Himal Chuli mountains to the west, Ganesh Mountain to the south and Sringi Mountain to the north.

Special Features of Tsum Valley Trekking incorporates walking through verdant forests of pines and rhododendrons, passing through pretty villages of ever- smiling locals and observing their centuries old Buddhist culture, enjoying the captivating view of splendid Ganesh Mountain and many more.
