The stunning pyramid of Ama Dablam is regarded as one of the world’s most exquisite and sought after peaks, alongside the infamous Matterhorn and Khan Tengri. The ambitious and experienced mountaineer will find the South West Ridge an acceptable challenge. We take the standard route up Ama Dablam which offers steep snow, ice and rock climbing in exhilarating and exposed situations. Fixed lines will be used in our ascent, to aid speed and efficient movement on this impressive mountain.

Day 01–Arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu
Upon your arrival at the international airport in Kathmandu, our representatives and team members will welcome you. You will then be taken to the hotel and our representatives will give provide brief overview about the travel itinerary. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02- Rest and preparation day
The next day, you will prepare for the trek and rest for the most part of the day at the hotel where you will be staying. During evening, you might walk around the streets of Thamel, tourist hub in Kathmandu, and observe the mixture of Nepali and Western culture. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 03– Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2610m) 4hrs

On the third morning, you will board a flight to the Lukla Airport, also commonly known as Tenzing-Hillary Airport. It is a wonderful mountain flight and in around 30 minutes you will reach Lukla while enjoying the breathtaking views of the mountains during the flight. After landing at Lukla, you will take light breakfast and start your trek to Phakding. After around 3 hours of mild trek, you will reach Phakding village where we will be staying overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 04– Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m) 6 hrs

After having breakfast in the morning at Phakding, we resume our trek and continue to hike along the Dudh Koshi River while ascending through Himalayan Pine and Doedar Cedar forests. Given the increasing altitude, you will be hiking slowly while enjoying the surrounding natural beauty of mountains. After almost six hours of trek, we finally arrive   to the popular village of Namche Bazaar. The village of Namche has remained a historic trading point for the Nepalese and Tibetan traders who exchange salt, dried meat and other consumable and textile items. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Namche Bazzar.

Day 05–A day for acclimatization at Namche

The fifth day of the trek will be spent in Namche Bazaar acclimatizing to the altitude and the conditions. A day for acclimatization is strictly advisable for prospective trekkers as they can also spend a day in Namche visiting the local bazaar of Namche, talking with Sherpas and learning about their culture. Or if you are not much tired and are ready for a few hours of trek, then you can also go to the Everest Hotel for great panoramic view of the Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse and others. Located at an altitude of 3900m, Everest Hotel is the hotel that is situated at the highest altitude in the world. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 6: Trek to Deboche

The next morning, we take breakfast in the morning and resume our expedition trek. On the way, we cross past several settlement areas along the Dhudh Koshi River. We will also witness the views of several mountain peaks including the Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam. After 4 hours of trekking, we will come across a Buddhist monastery in Tengboche. After spending some time at the monastery, we then descend to the village of Deboche. Stay overnight at Deboche.

 Day 7: Trek to Pheriche

The destination on the seventh day’s trek is the beautiful village of Pheriche where we reach after few hours of uphill trekking. Upon reaching Pheriche, we spend the rest of the time travelling around the place and the village. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Pheriche.

 Day 8: Acclimatization in Pheriche

Day eight of the expedition has been allotted for acclimatization and rest in Pheriche. Besides, we will stroll around the village in the afternoon and in the evening we will prepare for the expedition that now beckons with great anticipation.

Day 9: Trek to the Ama Dablam Base Camp

Ama Dablam expedition in real starts on day nine when we resume our trek from Pheriche to the Ama Dablam Base Camp. During the trek, we cross the Dudh Kosi River and climb up the trail taking us to the Ama Dablam Base Camp. The Base Camp is situated at an altitude of 4,570 meters. The rest of the day, we will be camping at the Base Camp and preparing for the ascent due to start the next day.

Day 10-25: Ascent of Ama Dablam

On the tenth day of the expedition itinerary, you will start your ascent to the Mount Ama Dablam. The expedition leader, along with the other crew members, will carry out planning and other necessary tasks for the ascent. A few days might also be spent on the Base Camp for organizing food, acclimatization, and practicing rope and other mountain climbing skills.

From then on, we start our expedition towards the Ama Dablam peak. It will nearly take 15 days to get to the top of the mountain peak and the view from the top will surely be a breathtaking one, with Mount Everest and Lhotse clearly visible. By the 26th day of the expedition, we get back to the Base Camp upon scaling the adventurous peak.

Day 26-27: Trek back to Lukla

For the next two days, we will be returning to Lukla from the Base Camp. After reaching Lukla, we will be staying overnight at a guesthouse preparing for tomorrow’s flight to Kathmandu. If you have some time left after reaching Lukla, you might as well choose to take rest as you will be exhausted from the expedition.

Day 28: Fly to Kathmandu

The next day, you will board a flight to Kathmandu from Lukla. In around 25-minutes, you will reach the Capital city of Kathmandu. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 29: Rest and preparation for departure

The second-last day of the expedition itinerary, you will be resting at the hotel in Kathmandu. During the afternoon, if you feel like strolling around then you might as well visit the world heritage sites, temples and monuments in Kathmandu. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 30: Departure from Kathmandu

After exactly 30 days of the expedition to the Mount Ama Dablam, you will be returning back to your home country catching a flight from the international Airport in Kathmandu.
